for those who missed it alice's performance was up on youtube within minutes of it being aired but unsurprisingly that has since been removed. there are versions up there though if you seach, or check out the news articles listed below. unlike many people i'm not very familiar with the musicial. i had the original ian gillan recording (because it was gillan), but don`t recall ever really listening to it, and i'd never seen the film or any other production. i'd also never heard if either of the other leads before, so my interest was solely in alice's participation. i wasn`t even going to stay up and watch it, but turns out alice was so good it was worth sitting through endless adverts to see it live. and talking of adverts, there was even an advert for a local ac show on the feed i watched, and the occasional shot of alice (and kyler) backstage as well, which was cool to see. i thought many of the youngsters in the cast performed excellently, especially sarah bareilles as "mary" and ben daniels as "pontius pilate", but the biggest weak link by far was legend, who, while having a good voice, was constantly upstaged in both acting (especially) and singing by almost everyone else on the stage with him!
